Concerned about how we as consumers contribute to the future environment we live in, and together with my strict moral and ethical code of not wearing or using animal bi-products, has led me to dictate the way I design.
By collecting and re-using inner tubes I am being environmentally friendly, preventing the accumulation of discarded tubes that would otherwise be part of landfills that pollute the Earth.
Inner tubes are great for several reasons. They develop a finish over time that gives them the soft feeling of a fine leather, and they’re waterproof and virtually stain proof.
Each finished piece is unique and has a story of many miles travelled behind it.
Recycling is a compromise with the planet, and I feel fashion and design has to do its part.
